I have a friend who is one of the most dedicated mums I know...
She is creative, fun and kind, slow to anger and abounding in love, her heart aches for her kids and she is just so very committed!
I wish I could have the dedication to pray even 1/4 as much for my child as she does for hers...
Well...I pinched this idea from her...
Her husband made some of these for their kids and I thought they would be such a fun and inexpensive party favour that I got my husband to make some as well...
Cheeky.
They were a little more difficult to make than
Pencil Necklaces
Equipment:- Coloured pencils
- Small saw
- Sandpaper
- Drill
- Fishing line
- Pencil sharpener
- Chose the pencil colours you'd like to use and cut them to your desired length (we cut ours in half).
- Sand the cut end with sandpaper. Drill a hole down one end (the unsharpened end). Sharpen the other end (if it isn't already).
- Tie two knots just left of the middle of the fishing line (to stop the threaded pencils from falling off). Thread the pencils onto the fishing line and tie two more knots to fasten them in place. Tie a knot down each end of the fishing line (to make knotting them together easier). Tie the ends together to make a necklace.
NB: Be careful leaving this necklace with young children as it could be a choking hazard. When I gave out the party bags, I warned the mums to keep an eye on their children when they were playing with it.
Cut the pencils to desired length. Sand one end and sharpen the other.
Drill a small hole down the flat end.
Threaded onto fishing line...
Added to the party bags
